To quell any concerns... this flashback won't be going on forever, it's got about a dozen more pages unless I spontaneously add more or miscounted... this chapter should be done in around sixteen pages or so if all goes well. Then I'll probably post the short prologue as a series of ordinary updates before moving it to where it belongs.
