The Order has a handful of dreamers in their organization to defend the web of dreamworlds: Talnaver, Gabriel, and Dayun--each agent with a different mission. But there's a new player in the game: Rease Nalive, a girl whose dreams are just a little more real than all the rest. Her dreams are murder.

Between Places updates Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday, and is a fantasy graphic novel rated PG-13 for things like occasional mild language, fantasy violence, magic, and other intense content. I make no guarentees as to the rating for links out. Some are a lot more mature than others, some are totally kid safe, a lot are somewhere in between. Use your own judgement.

Between Places is a genre bender fantasy, with sci-fi, cyberpunk, mystery and other elements. The script was written for ScriptFrenzy '07, in one month of crazed script writing. That probably says something right there.

Got the feeling that you've read Between Places before? I started out on ComicGenesis in June 2008 and the original archive contains an alternate take/order of chapters one and two.

I can be contacted at this email address. Between Places is hosted by SpiderForest and moved to SpiderForest on December 29, 2008. My DeviantART is here and I have Twitter (I'm Metruis on Twitter), and you can find it here!

As for me, I'm formally employed as a housekeeper (woo toilets!), I have a bunch of siblings, I do not master in any particular art form, my room is painted purple and has random things stuck on the wall and it has lots of laundry on the floor. I like purple and green. And I make this comic.

F.A.Q.s

No, really, I do get a question frequently. I figure I'll answer it right now. That question is: HOW DO YOU DO IT? YOUR ART IS DIFFERENT WHAT ARE YOU DOING? in its various incarnations.

For everyone with that question, well, here's an (extremely) out of date tutorial. Chapter 2, page 4, step by step. In short, I don't use lineart and I digitally paint in Photoshop CS2 with a tablet. No traditional media is involved. Some of the resources used in this comic are my own. The more useful brush sets I've made for this comic are in my DeviantArt gallery and you may feel free to use them for anything you want (except profiting from selling them as your own work, of course.) There are also a few stock backgrounds painted for Between Places in my DeviantArt gallery free for your use.

If you're interested in using my art for anything, simple terms: signatures and avatars and icons are all good, no need to ask. I'd prefer credit if you use it for a layout or anything like that, and anything that makes you money is a no go without contacting me first. Signature, avatar, icon, wallpaper, representing your RP character online, those sort of no-profit uses are fine. Contact me if you think it might be iffy, but I'm actually pretty cool with my art being used for any non-profit purposes as long as you don't claim you drew it.

If you're interested in linking back to Between Places, go for it! Link to me freely! There's banners of all shapes and sizes (well, they all have four corners) on the link page for Between Places. I also do link exchanges, so by all means, email me and let me see your site too.

Information on the story can be found on the story page and lots of information on the setting can be found on the world page. And of course there's the friendly neighborhood cast page.

Credit for the artwork in Rease's bedroom goes to this multitude of kind artists who donated art freely for me to use! Check out all these awesome people and their comics for more of their art!
