Comic of the Week is taking a break due to Easter. Ayep.
This page was HAAARD. Really hard. I mean, this is a dream within a flashback within a dream. I don't want to use the sepia/black and white some comics use but I did want somewhat of a visual difference to indicate the dream within a flashback so I went with a rougher art style--and let me tell you, getting rough right takes a lot more than getting smooth. I'm not all that happy with the first panel but other than that, generally, if I think it looks better than the crappy pencil sketch I start with, the page is good. (I often lose a lot of expression from the pencils, that's all.)
Anyway, crazy page... and this isn't even the craziest of this scene... this scene has a bunch of crazy pages. Eesh. Why did I pencil it, why didn't I stick with the original "when I was a kid I had bad dreams" bit of narrative with Rease and Saerin making various faces... oh yeah! It was boring. Maybe I'll put those pencils up as vote incentives once the scene's over.
Current recipe <3. Crush ice in blender. Cold brew coffee/chill drip brewed coffee, put in one part coffee and one part milk, vanilla syrup, chocolate powder, and some sugar, BLEND. WOOO. Coffee slurpee. <3 <3 <3 it is made of amazing.
