This page isn't as polished as I'd like it to be but I'm not all displeased with it either. The big thing that irks me about doing interior scenes in places like this is that I have nothing to dump in the foreground. It's all character background lighting done. In the lab I got away with a few behind the tubes shots, and when I was outside I could put trees and sticks and snow and stuff in the foreground. But I really haven't gotten to play with any of that sort of stuff for a while lately. It's a challenge for me to still get visually appealing layouts and panels and stuff... with... next to nothing going on in the background. Yet I still think this is interesting to look at, even if it's got next to no backgrounds. Some people might've just dumped in a white/gray gradient, but there's just a hint of an idea of something there. I was really worried from my pencils about the potential clarity of this scene, being as Saerin's wearing light clothing and fairly pale herself, and everything was mostly white... but I think it's working out all right. 'Course, I only have to color one more page of this... unlike the lab, which was pages and pages and paaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaages. But still. I'm really itching for a forest scene. I'll probably script one and then kick myself repeatedly after spending two months drawing nothing but trees. (thinks) Do I have any excuses to draw interesting exteriors? Well, the next scene's back to Rease, but again... empty space. Maybe I'll mess with my script so I can paint some giant waves and kill her. That would be ever so fun. Bwee!
